On the Relationship Between Qualitative Choice Logic and Possibilistic Logic

چکیده
Qualitative choice logic (QCL) is a propositional logic for representing prioritized alternatives. The logic adds to classical propositional logic a new connective called ordered disjunction: A~×B intuitively means: if possible A, but if A is not possible then at least B. QCL inference is obtained by defining a preference relation between interpretations of a propositional language. This paper shows that when this preference relation is total, then it is possible to encode QCL in the framework of possibilistic logic, and conversely.

Stable Models in Generalized Possibilistic Logic
Possibilistic logic is a well-known logic for reasoning under uncertainty, which is based on the idea that the epistemic state of an agent can be modeled by assigning to each possible world a degree of possibility, taken from a totally ordered, but essentially qualitative scale. Recently, a generalization has been proposed that extends possibilistic logic to a meta-epistemic logic, endowing it ...
متن کاملModal logics for qualitative possibility theory
Possibilistic logic has been proposed as a numerical formalism for reasoning with uncertainty. There has been interest in developing qualitative accounts of possibility, as well as an explanation of the relationship between possibility and modal logics. We present two modal logics that can be used to represent and reason with qualitative statements of possibility and necessity. These logics hav...
متن کاملPossibilistic Reasoning - A Mini-Survey and Uniform Semantics
In this paper, we survey some quantitative and qualitative approaches to uncertainty management based on possibility theory and present a logical framework to integrate them. The semantics of the logic is based on the Dempster’s rule of conditioning for possibility theory. It is then shown that classical modal logic, conditional logic, possibilistic logic, quantitative modal logic and qualitati...
متن کاملHandling partially ordered preferences in possibilistic logic - A survey discussion -
This paper advocates possibilistic logic with partially ordered priority weights as a powerful representation format for handling preferences. An important benefit of such a logical setting is the ability to check the consistency of the specified preferences. We recall how Qualitative Choice Logic statements (and related ones), as well as CP-nets preferences can be represented in this framework...
متن کاملPossibilistic Nested Logic Programs
We introduce the class of possibilistic nested logic programs. These possibilistic logic programs allow us to use nested expressions in the bodies and the heads of their rules. By considering a possibilistic nested logic program as a possibilistic theory, a construction of a possibilistic logic programing semantics based on answer sets for nested logic programs and the proof theory of possibili...
